ESO HEALING
MY HEALING MOTO
This is a website to assist people who are looking to build a healer in the game Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) or just trying to understand some of the basic ideas and principles behind healing. I’m not promoting the current meta but I give my thoughts around gear and builds. This is about improving knowledge of races, classes, skills, and gear to assist people wanting to learn more about building their healer.
What is healing? It is the act or restoring health, but in ESO a healer does so much more than heal. We also buff and debuff, increasing allies' strength and defenses and or reducing the enemy's strength and defenses to support your group in progressing through content.
There are a few golden rules of healing:
-
Keep yourself alive. Always try to position yourself so that you are standing in your own heals. If you heal away from yourself you are more likely to die. A dead healer heals no one.
-
Tanks are generally the primary focus. If the tank goes down, generally things go bad. Keep them alive, resourced, and buffed.
-
Healers do not resurrect players unless the DPS are dead. If you stop healing to resurrect another player, you and others are more likely to die, This is especially important in trials, but is still good practice in four-man content.
-
Healers in ESO do more than just heal. In ESO healers provide resources, buffs, and debuffs - which are just as important as the heals. Increased group DPS means generally shorter flights and skipping mechanics. The less time a fight takes the easier it is on you. It’s a win/win situation.
-
Always remember the 1st rule.
